Construction of Siargao Airport’s expanded passenger terminal building (PTB) will begin on August 8, according to Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon.

Dizon said the modernized and bigger Siargao Airport PTB will ease congestion and provide comfort for tourists.

Once completed, the expanded Siargao Airport PTB can accommodate more than three times its current capacity, from 200 passengers to at least 750 passengers daily.

The Siargao Airport is part of the first bundled unsolicited proposal for the modernization and expansion of the Davao and Bicol Airports submitted by the JG Summit and Filinvest Groups under a Public-Private Partnership deal.
