Yusen Logistics Philippines, Inc. (YLPH) has entered into a strategic partnership with renewable energy provider ACEN as it transitions to the use of renewable energy as part of its commitment to environmental sustainability and responsible logistics operations.

As part of the collaboration, ACEN will be powering YLPH’s head office entirely with renewable energy, primarily sourced from solar and wind power plants, the supply chain and logistics service provider said in a statement.

YLPH said the shift is expected to reduce the company’s carbon footprint significantly, aligning with global sustainability goals and the company’s own environmental, social, and governance (ESG) roadmap. It also builds on YLPH’s previous initiatives, including the installation of an 86.6 (kilowatt peak) KWP solar power system last year.

By embracing clean energy, YLPH said it reinforces its role as a responsible logistics partner, demonstrating that business growth and environmental stewardship can go hand in hand. This initiative is part of the company’s broader commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, optimizing energy efficiency, and promoting greener supply chain solutions for its clients.

Moreover, YLPH said its partnership with ACEN not only ensures a reliable supply of renewable power but also supports the country’s ongoing transition toward a low-carbon economy.

The Yusen Logistics group aims to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by 45% by 2030 (from a 2022 baseline) and achieving net-zero emissions for all its services by 2050.
