Integrated transportation and logistics provider 2GO has highlighted career opportunities across the industry through its participation in the JobStreet Virtual Job Fair, reporting a 21% increase in completed applications during its recruitment campaign.

JobStreet campaign data showed 597 completed applications during the promotional period, up 21% from the pre-promotion run rate. Job views also increased by 12%.

2GO operates across freight forwarding, warehousing, supply chain operations, technology, and corporate services, with a workforce of approximately 1,800 employees spanning operational, technical, and corporate functions.

“Behind every shipment delivered, every journey completed, and every business we help serve are people whose work keeps the country moving. At 2GO, we are committed to fostering a workplace where people feel valued, inspired, and empowered to move the nation forward,” said Edcel Francia, senior manager of 2GO HR Recruitment.

The company said the initiative underscores the importance of talent in sustaining the transportation and logistics sector, as businesses rely on efficient supply chains and reliable connectivity to reach markets and customers.

Skilled workforce

Its workforce includes personnel in cross-docking, warehousing, operations, and vessel management, as well as professionals in software development, finance, business intelligence, and marketing. These functions support cargo movement, operational efficiency, business performance, and innovation.

The need to develop skilled workers extends beyond individual companies and reflects broader industry priorities.

The World Bank’s July 2026 report, “Ports, Ships, and Fuels: Maritime Efficiency, Safety, and Sustainability in East Asia and the Pacific,” says maritime transport drives jobs and economic growth. It calls for greater efficiency, stronger safety, and skills training for an evolving industry.

For the Philippines, an archipelagic country dependent on maritime transport and logistics networks, workforce development is important to maintaining connectivity among communities, businesses, and domestic and international markets.
