2GO is enhancing its logistics and passenger services for Mindanao to bolster the southern Philippine island’s trade, tourism, and overall economic development through better connectivity.
Speaking at the 35th Mindanao Business Conference in Cagayan de Oro City on August 12, 2026, 2GO chief operating officer and chief financial officer William Howell said connectivity is a key enabler of a more “future-proof and inclusive” Mindanao economy.
The conference carried the theme “Accelerating Inclusive Growth through Innovation and Sustainability: Bridging the Gap, Scaling the Future.”
“When we talk about the future of the Philippine economy, Mindanao is not a peripheral story,” Howell said, citing the region’s role in agriculture and fisheries, energy, manufacturing, mining, exports and tourism.
Howell said enhancing connectivity could unlock the region’s economic potential by enabling more efficient movement of goods, people, and opportunities across markets.
“Connectivity is not merely about moving goods and passengers. It is about enabling commerce, expanding access, attracting investments, and strengthening communities,” Howell said.
He identified industry, growth engines, connectivity and tourism as four strategic pillars of Mindanao’s economic advantage, noting that connectivity links farmers to markets, manufacturers to customers, exporters to gateways and communities to economic opportunities.
2GO facilitates these activities via a unified network of freight, logistics, and travel services.

2GO’s participation in the Mindanao Business Conference builds on its engagement with government agencies, chambers and business groups in the region.

The conference also featured discussions on economic strategic foresight, connectivity and resilience, smart industrial development, energy transition, digital infrastructure, trade, climate-smart business, tourism and financing for micro, small and medium enterprises.
