2GO, the logistics arm of Aboitiz Transport System (ATS), is increasing its freight capacity by 15% this month with the full operation of its recently acquired four new vessels — two combo and two 600-TEU dedicated freighters.

“Given an ideal mix of containerized and ro-ro (roll on-roll off) cargoes, we are able to better serve both the dry and refrigerated cargo requirements

of our customers,” 2GO chief executive Susan Valdez said.

The new vessels will allow 2GO to have 58 calls a week in 12 key destinations nationwide. In Cebu alone, the frequency will increase to seven times a week and five times a week for Cagayan de Oro.

Valdez said the upcoming full integration of ATS subsidiaries logistics firm Zoom-in-Packages and refrigerated transport services provider Reefer Van Specialists Inc into the 2GO business will also help the company achieve financial and operational efficiencies that would ultimately benefit customers.
