The Aurora Pacific Economic Zone and Freeport Authority (APECO) will take its pitch for the Casiguran International New Port to one of Southeast Asia’s premier maritime gatherings on July 8-9, joining senior port and logistics executives from across the region to seek investors and partners for its flagship infrastructure projects.

APECO president and CEO Gil Taway IV will attend the 24th ASEAN Ports and Logistics 2026 Conference in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on July 8, participating in the event’s CEO Forum alongside top shipping and port development officials from the region.

The two-day conference is expected to draw approximately 300 senior executives from shipping lines, freight forwarders, port operators, logistics companies, and cargo owners across ASEAN and connecting markets.

The CEO Forum panel discussion involves the session on “Adapting to Current Uncertainties, Addressing Current Disruptions in Cargo Movements and Forecasting the Future of Global Trade Routes and its Implications for ASEAN Ports.”

Other panelists include Port Klang Authority general manager Dato’ Captain K. Subramaniam, MMC Port Holdings Berhad Group CEO Dato’ Azman Shah Mohd Yusof, MTT Shipping and Logistics Bhd managing director Ooi Lean Hin, LuMIC Development Sdn Bhd chief business development officer Alex Staring, and PT Pelindo Sinergi Lokaseva president Director Joko Noerhudha, among 35 international speakers expected at the conference.

APECO is using the forum to position Casiguran as a future Pacific-facing port hub for cargo consolidation, storage, processing, and redistribution, targeting shipping lines and logistics firms looking for resilient trade nodes and alternative routes in the region.

On the sidelines, the agency will conduct port benchmarking activities at Port Klang, Malaysia’s primary maritime gateway and one of the ten busiest container ports in the world.

The conference appearance is part of a broader investment mission APECO is running in Malaysia from July 7 to 9. The agency will present opportunities in seaport and airport development, clean energy, and other priority sectors within the Aurora economic zone.

It will also examine potential partnerships within the halal industry, emphasizing food and beverage, tourism, and related services, as part of its effort to position Aurora Province as a strategic investment hub connected to ASEAN and Pacific markets.
