The Bureau of Customs-Port of Cagayan de Oro (BOC-CDO) celebrated its 50th founding anniversary on February 16, 2026, where it also recognized the region’s top importers and exporters for 2025.
Held at the Chali Resort and Conference Center in Cagayan de Oro City, the event was attended by Customs commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno and highlighted the port’s role as one of the country’s major revenue-generating districts.
The port generated P39.46 billion in revenue last year, driven in part by Northern Mindanao’s leading traders, many of them from the oil, energy, agribusiness, and manufacturing sectors.

BOC-CDO District collector Atty. Manuel Zurbito Jr. expressed appreciation to stakeholders for their contribution to national economic growth through “timely and accurate payment of duties and taxes.”
“In honor of my predecessors, the Port of Cagayan de Oro has, over the years, distinguished itself as one of the premier ports not only in Mindanao but throughout the Philippines. As the gateway to Northern Mindanao, it serves as a vital engine of economic growth—facilitating trade, generating revenue, and supporting countless businesses and livelihoods in the region. As a billionaire port it remains a significant revenue driver for the government coffers through the dedication and commitment of its workforce,” said Zurbito.
Nepomuceno lauded the port’s personnel for their continued focus on revenue generation and institutional performance.
He emphasized that transparency, good governance, and efficient customs administration remain central to his priority framework of Integrity, Accountability, and Modernization, or IAM.
