The Bureau of Customs-Ninoy Aquino International Airport (BOC-NAIA) seized an estimated P18.679 million worth of suspected high-grade marijuana, or “kush,” from the luggage of three Filipino passengers who arrived at NAIA Terminal 3 from Bangkok, Thailand, on September 24.
The three inbound passengers were carrying six pieces of luggage that were subjected to physical examination after showing suspicious X-ray images, according to an initial report from the BOC.
The luggage initially appeared to contain foodstuff, but examination found items suspected to be high-grade marijuana or “kush.”
Initial findings indicated approximately 18,679 grams of suspected kush.
The BOC said examination and verification procedures were still ongoing.
Further details will be released upon completion of the examination and appropriate validation by the concerned authorities.
