The Bureau of Customs (BOC)–Port of Subic has uncovered another 123.91 kilograms of high-end kush concealed aboard a yacht, bringing the total value of the seized drugs to an estimated P366.65 million.
The latest discovery involved 109 packages weighing about 123.91 kg found during the continuing inspection of the yacht, which had previously yielded a significant quantity of kush, BOC said in a statement.
With the additional find, the total haul from the vessel now stands at 198 packages of kush, with a combined estimated street value of P366.65 million, according to the BOC.
The yacht had docked at the Subic Bay Yacht Club, where Customs authorities began enforcement and inspection operations following the initial discovery.
The continuing operation highlights the importance of sustained inspection and coordinated enforcement in preventing illegal drugs from entering the country, the BOC said.
Port of Subic District Collector Atty. Geniefelle Lagmay said the port remains committed to maintaining vigilance as part of its border protection mandate.
The latest seizure follows the initial discovery of high-grade kush aboard the vessel, with authorities continuing to strip and inspect the yacht as part of the investigation.
