  • Cavite-Laguna Expressway Silang (Aguinaldo) Interchange will open to the public on Nov 8
  • Passage on the new section will be free until further notice
  • The subsection will ease travel between Cavite and Tagaytay

The Silang (Aguinaldo) Interchange in the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX) will open to the public on November 8, MPCALA Holdings Inc. (MHI), concessionaire for CALAX, said in a statement.

Passage on the new section is free until further notice. Toll charges will apply only up to the Silang East Interchange.

The 3.9-kilometer, 2×2 lane section of the expressway is expected to enhance travel experience for motorists in the region and between Cavite and Tagaytay.

Raul Ignacio, president and general manager of MHI, expressed enthusiasm for the expansion, saying, “We’re thrilled about this CALAX expansion, which will not only make life easier for our motorists but also boost the local economy.”

He noted the expansion would provide a quicker and more convenient route to popular destinations in Cavite, creating opportunities for businesses and families.

The Silang (Aguinaldo) Interchange is expected to play a vital role in alleviating congestion on Cavite’s busiest highway, offering a faster route to the emerging tourism hubs of Silang town and Tagaytay City.

It is projected to serve an additional 5,000 motorists daily, providing easy access to known destinations.

This latest development links CALAX to Aguinaldo Highway in Silang, improving accessibility and extending the benefits of convenient travel to the local community and beyond.

In related news, CALAX’s expansion plans include reaching a total length of 45 kilometers by 2024, featuring eight interchanges:

  • Technopark, Laguna Boulevard
  • Santa Rosa-Tagaytay Road
  • Silang East, Silang (Aguinaldo)
  • Governor’s Drive
  • Open Canal
  • Kawit Interchange

CALAX will eventually connect to the Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX) in Kawit, forging interconnection between key regions. Presently, its operational segments span from Mamplasan Rotunda to Silang East Interchange.
