The Cebu Logistics Golf Club (CLGC) hosted its 3rd annual tournament on November 5 at Club Filipino Inc. De Cebu Golf Course, Danao.
The tournament was held in partnership with Purcia Transport and attracted more than 90 participants.
“(The) CLGC started with a group of around 14 logistics industry golfers chipping in to buy small tokens for the winners. From that modest group, we have grown to more than 90 players for this year’s tournament,” CLGC president Marlon Isah de Guzman said.

CGLC began less than two years ago with the aim of fostering camaraderie in the logistics sector. PK Holdings president Lourdes Grace Mapalad described the event as a “great way to create friendship and camaraderie amongst the people in the industry and of course help others.”
De Guzman said while they “still adhere to the objectives for which the group was formed, we are evolving rapidly that we are now also giving back to the community by donating to various government and non-government organizations.”
ICanServe Foundation Cebu, an advocacy group for early breast cancer detection through regular breast self-examination, clinical breast examination, and mammography, was this year’s tournament beneficiary.
Cebuana junior golfer Grace Pauline Quintanilla, 17, overcame an injury early in the competition and prevailed by a single stroke – one-over par score after 18 holes – over CLGC’s top player Carlo Barte at an exciting playoff event.
The competition showcased other top players, including Barte, who claimed the Men’s A Best Net award with a score of four under par. Additional category winners included Fr. Joseph Zacarias (Men’s B, 10 under par), Engr. Ed Aliño (Men’s C, four under par), and Janneza Libosada (Ladies, even par).
CLGC vice president Joseph Veloso credited the event’s success to broad sponsorship from the logistics and non-logistics sectors.
The CLGC golf tournament was supported by Casino Filipino Cebu, Fuso Philippines/Fast
