Deligero named 2024 outstanding customs broker

Joel Deligero is this year’s outstanding customs broker while the Professional Regulatory Board for Customs Brokers (PRBCB) and Chamber of Customs Brokers, Inc. (CCBI) have been nominated as most outstanding professional regulatory board (PRB) and outstanding integrated professional organization (AIPO), respectively, during the recent Outstanding Professionals of the Year Awards by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).

Deligero during the PRC event held on August was awarded the outstanding customs broker of 2024 “for his distinguished contribution in the field of customs brokers, his exemplary service in his profession by crafting the rules and regulations on air express consignment and e-commerce, and advocating for the betterment of the field in the country shows his confidence and passion in customs brokers.”

Deligero had his own customs brokerage firm and has also worked in DHL Express Philippines, Lazada, and U-Freight Philippines.

Deligero is one of the professionals in 37 fields of expertise who have been awarded in recognition of their excellent achievements in their respective professions and their significant contributions and services to fellow professionals, the profession, and the nation.

PRBCB was one of the six nominees for the most outstanding PRB, which is an award to “inspire further PRC’s professional regulatory boards…to effectively and efficiently discharge their won sworn duties and responsibilities.”

Other nominees were the PRBs for optometry, medical technology, criminology, professional teachers, and guidance and counseling, which was awarded the most outstanding PCB.

“This award is a reflection of the hard work and dedication of our entire board and staff. We remain committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism and regulatory integrity within the customs brokerage industry,” PRBCB chairman Samuel Bautista said in a statement.

CCBI, meanwhile, was among six nominees as outstanding AIPO under category B. The award, which is given to the AIPO that demonstrated distinguished service to their professionals, to PRC in its programs and activities, to the communities and other sectors through their corporate social responsibility, and to the Filipino nation, was won by the United Architects of the Philippines.

CCBI national president Dr. Anthony Cristobal said the “accolade is a testament to the hard work and dedication of all our members.”

“We are committed to continuing our mission of enhancing the standards and practices within the customs brokerage industry,” Cristobal added.
