DHL Express has signed a partnership with Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) to support and extend promotional offers and discounts to international orders made via CoopBiz, CDA’s e-Commerce marketplace for cooperatives.

CoopBiz is designed to showcase cooperatives’ unique and quality products in both local and international markets. At least 30 cooperatives have signified their readiness to be part of the initial implementation of CoopBiz.

CDA is the lead government agency promoting long-term growth and full development of cooperatives in the Philippines. There are 18,857 cooperatives nationwide as of December 31, 2021, according to CDA.

Qualified cooperatives that register on CoopBiz will be able to use DHL Express services to ship their goods and products, the company said in a statement. Furthermore, they will have access to exclusive promo codes and discounts on shipment bookings made via the platform. DHL Express customer service is also available to assist bookings or queries on the promo codes.

DHL Express Philippines country manager Nigel Lockett and CDA chairman Joseph Encabo signed the MOA.

“The cooperative sector has untapped potentials in the international market. We are thrilled to be working with CDA to provide and extend possibilities for these enterprises, making it easier for them to prosper through technology and digitalization,” said Lockett. “Cooperatives can fully harness our worldwide network to expand their businesses by leveraging our presence in over 220 countries and territories, paired with our logistic expertise.”

CDA will actively promote and market the promotional offers to its cooperatives through SMS and e-mails, on its official website, social media sites, mobile applications, and other channels.

“I’d like to express my heartfelt gratitude to our partner DHL Express Philippines for participating in this momentous occasion. Both entities are going to serve the cooperative sector in the country. This is a milestone because this is not just about CDA, but how DHL can contribute to economic sustainability. I believe that DHL and CDA are now conduits of social equity and progress,” said Encabo at the MoA signing.

He added, “I’m also thankful because DHL responded proactively, not just as a partner, but as a message that there is a private entity that offers genuine services to Filipinos. DHL plays its social responsibility role and manifests a genuine contribution to the country’s economic growth.”
