Glory (Philippines), Inc. (GPI) is looking into expanding its Philippine operations into manufacturing, logistics and other value-adding activities as it seeks to further integrate the country into its global supply chain.
GPI president Shoichi Onishi and Glory Ltd. executive officer Kazumasa Kishiue presented the company’s expansion plans during a consultation with Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) director general Tereso Panga on August 11.
The company sought PEZA’s guidance on the appropriate structure for its planned activities and how these could be registered under the agency’s investment framework while maximizing available incentives.
The proposed activities include quality inspection, packaging, warehousing, customization and logistics services, alongside expanded manufacturing operations.
GPI has been operating at the Cavite Economic Zone since 1994 and currently employs more than 1,300 Filipinos. Its facility serves as a manufacturing and export hub within the global supply chain of Glory Ltd., a Japan-based manufacturer of money-handling solutions operating in more than 100 countries.
The Philippine plant supplies currency-handling machines to markets across North America, Europe and Asia.

Onishi said the company’s long presence in the Philippines and its planned expansion reflect a broader role for the country in Glory’s international operations.
“GPI has continued its operations in the Philippines for more than 30 years with the support of PEZA. Glory positions the Philippines not merely as a production base, but as a strategic partner supporting future global growth,” Onishi said.
Panga welcomed GPI’s continued commitment to the Philippines and assured the company of PEZA’s support for its expansion plans.

As you expand your operations, our role is to help you identify the most appropriate structure within the PEZA framework so that your investments can remain competitive while contributing more to jobs, exports, technology, and our national economy. We want GPI to continue growing in the Philippines and to see the country become an even stronger part of your global operations,” Panga said.
