Philippine Airport Ground Support Solutions, Inc. (PAGSS) recently received multiple commendations from Australia flag carrier Qantas Airways in acknowledgment of its exceptional operational performance, safety standards, and commitment to customer service.
For fiscal year 2025–2026, PAGSS was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation for Operational Excellence dated July 23, recognizing the company’s consistent delivery of high-quality ground handling services that continue to support Qantas’ operations in Manila.
In addition, PAGSS was honored as a “Regional Zero Hero”, earning international recognition for achieving outstanding performance in two key operational metrics–on time performance and zero ground damage.
These distinctions underscore PAGSS’ commitment to operational reliability, safety, and efficiency—critical factors in ensuring seamless airline operations and an exceptional passenger experience, the groundhandling company said in a statement.
Adding to these achievements, PAGSS also received the prestigious “Longreach Spirit” commendation, a special recognition inspired by the pioneering spirit and resilience that have long defined Qantas.
In a letter dated July 23, 2026, Florante Larry Isidro, Airport Manager of Qantas Manila, commended the PAGSS team for its outstanding response during two consecutive aircraft-on-ground overnight disruptions involving Flight QF98 on July 11 and 17.
The commendation cited PAGSS for its exceptional ground handling and passenger assistance during back-to-back overnight operational disruptions, its dedication and perseverance under intense operational pressure to support Manila operations, and strong teamwork, operational coordination, and unwavering commitment to customer service.
Isidro lauded the PAGSS team for helping maintain operational continuity while ensuring passengers received the highest level of care despite challenging circumstances.
“Among the millions of journeys taken every day, it’s the genuine dedication, teamwork, and resilience during operational disruptions that truly shine through,” the letter stated.
“Your unwavering support helped maintain operations and deliver the best possible outcome for our passengers. Thank you for this outstanding example of partnership and operational excellence,” it added.
PAGSS said these latest recognitions further reinforce its reputation as one of the Philippines’ leading airport ground handling companies and a trusted partner of some of the world’s most respected international airlines.
“For three decades, PAGSS has remained committed to providing safe, reliable, and world-class ground handling services,” PAGSS president and chief executive officer Janette Cordero said.
“These recognitions from Qantas affirm the dedication, professionalism, and resilience of our people, particularly in the most demanding operational situations. They inspire us to continue delivering the highest standards of service to our airline partners and the traveling public,” Cordero added.
As air travel continues to grow, PAGSS said it remains steadfast in its mission to deliver operational excellence through a culture of safety, teamwork, innovation, and customer-focused service—qualities that continue to earn the confidence of leading airlines around the world.
