PAL expands long-haul modernization strategy
Philippine Airlines (PAL) on July 29 welcomed its third Airbus A350-1000, registered RP-C3512, marking another milestone in the flag carrier’s fleet modernization and long-haul expansion strategy.
The aircraft arrived in Manila from Airbus’ delivery center in Toulouse, France, and will enter commercial service after completing regulatory and operational preparations, the carrier said in a statement.
The A350-1000 is PAL’s flagship for long-haul operations, equipped with the airline’s latest Business, Premium Economy, and Economy Class cabins. It offers improved fuel efficiency, reduced carbon emissions, and larger cargo capacity compared to previous-generation aircraft.
PAL remains the first and only airline in Southeast Asia to operate the Airbus A350-1000.
The new aircraft will debut on the Manila–San Francisco route on August 5, 2026, initially operating three times weekly before transitioning to daily flights in September. RP-C3512 is the third of nine A350-1000s ordered in 2023. PAL also recently announced additional orders for nine more A350-1000s and 15 Boeing 787-10 Dreamliners, underscoring its long-term commitment to modernize its fleet and strengthen its international network.
Meanwhile, PAL highlighted its fleet modernization program by flying an Airbus A350-1000 to Davao, giving local passengers and aviation enthusiasts a closer look at the airline’s most advanced widebody aircraft.
The aircraft was presented in Davao as part of the Kadayawan Festival celebrations.
