Philippine Airlines (PAL) now allows small cats to travel with their fur parent in-cabin on domestic flights under its FurPAL program.

For a one-way fee starting at P2,500, the enhanced program now allows small cats to travel in the aircraft cabin, subject to applicable requirements and guidelines.

“By welcoming cats alongside dogs, FurPAL enables more pet families to travel with the companions they consider part of the family,” PAL said in a statement.

FurPAL was launched in November 2025, covering small dogs for flights to top local destinations such as Boracay, Bohol, and Siargao. The program was expanded to all domestic flights last February.

Under the program, only small dog and cat breeds weighing up to 10 kilograms, at least 12 weeks old, and fully weaned are eligible for in-cabin travel.

All pets must be transported in a soft-sided, leak-proof carrier equipped with pee pads and at least two ventilation panels. The combined weight of the pet and its carrier must not exceed 10 kilograms (22 lbs).

Each passenger may bring one pet.

Pets must remain inside their carriers and placed under the seat in front of the passenger throughout the flight.

Health certificates and updated vaccination records are mandatory, along with a veterinary certificate, PAL waiver and declaration form, and shipping permit from the Bureau of Animal Industry.

Pet sedation is strictly not allowed, PAL said.

To ensure safety and comfort of all passengers, PAL earlier said all flights feature hospital-grade HEPA filters, eliminating up to 99.99% of airborne particles, and cabins are meticulously cleaned with high-grade, eco-friendly agents before every flight.
