The Philippine Institute for Supply Management (PISM) and the Department of Trade and Industry-Supply Chain and Logistics Group (DTI-SCLG)) formalized their partnership for the Supply Chain Management and Integrated Logistics for Entrepreneurs (S.M.I.L.E.) Program.

The contract, signed on October 20, underscores the shared commitment of both organizations to empowering Filipino entrepreneurs by strengthening their supply chain capabilities, enhancing logistics efficiency, and equipping businesses with the knowledge and tools to thrive in an increasingly competitive marketplace, PISM said in a statement.

Through this collaboration, PISM and DTI aim to champion smarter, more resilient, and more sustainable business practices – helping entrepreneurs improve operational efficiency, optimize resources, and unlock new opportunities for growth.

“Together, we are taking meaningful steps toward building more competitive Filipino enterprises and a stronger, more inclusive business ecosystem,” PISM said.

DTI-SCG was represented during the signing by DTI undersecretary Mary Jean Pacheco and SCLG division chief Jonathan Cabaltera, while PISM was represented by its president Gerard Magadia, vice president for professional development Ysabelle Alonzo, and director general Jen Quijano.

PISM is the country’s premiere professional association of supply management practitioners. DTI-SCLG, meanwhile, is a specialized group of DTI dedicated to the growth and development of the supply chain and logistics sector in the Philippines.
