SHIPZY Philippines, a new entrant to the logistics industry, is positioning itself as an end-to-end service provider with a digital platform that integrates all players in the shipping process, which will then allow businesses, farmers, and other entrepreneurs to focus on growing their ventures.
“We saw that businesses often spend too much time coordinating different parts of their logistics. We wanted to use technology to bring those pieces together, so they can spend less time managing shipments and more time growing their business,” Rain Ibajo, SHIPZY PH chief executive and chief technology officer, said in a statement.
SHIPZY aims to provide the full service that includes warehousing, fulfillment, transportation, and delivery through different providers using one technology-enabled logistics platform — giving businesses a simpler way to store, fulfill, move, and track their goods.
The company noted that businesses may need warehousing, inventory management, packing, transportation, delivery, and shipment tracking, which could be provided by different companies. As operations expand, keeping these different moving parts organized can become a challenge in itself.
Further, different businesses move different kinds of products in different ways – farmer may need to get produce from the site directly to a buyer; a supplier may need to move products between cities; a small or medium enterprise SME may need additional space to store inventory and fulfill growing orders; and a larger company may require trucks or inter-island transportation.
SHIPZY’s model brings these capabilities together in one place with technological support.
“Technology connects the different parts of logistics, while AI helps us make the entire process smarter and more efficient,” said Jam Tolibas, SHIPZY PH chief information officer.
The goal is simple, the company said, make shipment management less complicated by connecting more of the logistics journey.
First hub
The company has set up its first logistics hub in Silang, Cavite, and is planning expansion to neighboring Metro Manila and eventually in key provinces across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
Its transportation services range from motorcycle deliveries to larger vehicles and trucks.
SHIPZY was founded by a team of mostly Filipino women with professional experience across different countries and industries, bringing their global perspectives with a local understanding of how Filipino businesses operate and use technology for a more efficient way to move goods.
“Behind every shipment is a business, a customer, or a community counting on us. When Filipino businesses succeed and grow, we believe we grow with them,” said Rovi Camarce, SHIPZY PH president and chief financial officer.
