Logistics service provider Yello X Supply Chain Solutions Inc. and Childhope Philippines Foundation Inc. signed an agreement on May 28 for the establishment of a training and employment framework for vulnerable young adults and families in Manila.
The memorandum of agreement, signed at the Yello X office in Manila, outlines a pipeline designed to transition individuals from Childhope-supported communities into the logistics and supply chain workforce.
Under the terms of the partnership, Childhope will endorse legally employable individuals from its programs to interview for entry-level operational positions at Yello X. Eligible roles include openings in warehousing, freight forwarding, logistics support, administration, and customer service. Candidates may also be referred to other business units within Yello X’s parent company, the Gothong Southern Group.
All endorsed candidates must undergo and pass Yello X’s standard recruitment, screening, and qualification processes.
The target demographic includes out-of-school youth, former street youth, and young parents from vulnerable sectors who are currently enrolled in Childhope’s livelihood and values formation initiatives. This includes participants of Project Bamboo, a Childhope program focused on developing self-reliance and workforce readiness.
The two organizations will collaborate on candidate screening, workplace readiness training, logistics orientation, and post-placement support. Both parties stated that the program will strictly adhere to local labor laws, data privacy rules, and workplace safety regulations.
“At Gothong Southern, we believe in Nemawashi — a Japanese philosophy that means ‘tendering the roots’ before expecting growth,” said Yello X president Albert Doceo, adding that the company focuses on building foundational values and skills.
Childhope executive director Mylene Lagman noted that the partnership expands practical career opportunities for the foundation’s program beneficiaries.
