  • Agri truck operators must enroll by Oct. 31 to get the 5% discount from Nov. 1 to 30
  • The discount covers five SMC Tollways expressways: Skyway, NAIAX, SLEX, STAR Tollway and TPLEX
  • Only trucks accredited by the Department of Agriculture qualify, and applications close after the deadline

Truck operators hauling agricultural products have until Oct. 31 to sign up for a 5% toll discount on expressways operated by SMC Tollways Corporation. The discount will run from Nov. 1 to 30. SMC Tollways said no applications will be accepted after the deadline.

The discount is part of a wider government effort led by the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Toll Regulatory Board (TRB). It aims to cut the cost of moving farm goods while fuel prices keep climbing.

Five expressways covered

The discount applies to:

  • Skyway System
  • NAIA Expressway (NAIAX)
  • South Luzon Expressway (SLEX)
  • STAR Tollway
  • Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway (TPLEX)

Trucks must be accredited by the DA and enrolled in the toll discount program. New applicants must submit:

  • a copy of the vehicle’s official receipt and certificate of registration (OR/CR)
  • a valid DA Accreditation Certificate
  • a copy of their Autosweep RFID card showing the account number

Documents can be submitted at any Autosweep Customer Service Center.

Operators already in the program will automatically get the November discount if their DA accreditation is still valid. Those with expired accreditation must enroll again.

SMC Tollways said it welcomes the measure and is ready to carry it out. “Moving food from farm to market should cost less,” it said, urging eligible truckers to enroll before the deadline.

Toll relief for farm goods trucks has been a recurring measure this year. In February, the TRB excused DA-accredited agri trucks from the NLEX toll hike for nearly six months. In April, DOTr announced that vehicles carrying food and agri goods could use expressways free of charge for an initial month, with weekly rebates credited to RFID accounts. A similar Agri-Trucks Toll Rebate Program was launched in 2024.
