The Bureau of Customs (BOC), in coordination with the Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) and the Philippine Coast Guard, seized suspected counterfeit imported footwear worth an estimated P700 million during an inspection of a warehouse in Imus City, Cavite, on August 3.
The operation was launched after the PNP-CIDG Cavite provincial field unit provided intelligence information on the alleged presence of imported goods suspected of violating customs and intellectual property laws, BOC said.
Following the report, the BOC issued a letter of authority and sent a combined enforcement team to inspect the warehouse.
The team comprised of personnel from the BOC’s Intellectual Property Rights Division, Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service (CIIS)-Port of Batangas, CIIS-Port of Manila, CIIS-Manila International Container Port, Enforcement and Security Service, and Legal Service, together with representatives from the PNP-CIDG Cavite provincial field unit, PNP Imus Component City Police Station, and the Coast Guard.
During the inspection, customs operatives discovered footwear bearing trademarks of Adidas, On Cloud, New Balance, Asics, Crocs, Nike, Jordan, Puma, Converse, Skechers, and Louis Vuitton.

Customs commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno thanked the CIDG and other partner agencies for providing timely intelligence and supporting the enforcement operation.
“On behalf of the Bureau of Customs, we extend our gratitude to the CIDG and our other partner agencies for their vital information and cooperation. This underscores the importance of strong inter‑agency collaboration in preventing illicit goods from entering the market and in protecting the interests of Filipino consumers and legitimate businesses,” Nepomuceno said.
