The Port of Cagayan de Oro conducted the first operational testing of its newly acquired mobile harbor crane on May 13, 2026, as part of efforts to improve cargo handling efficiency and strengthen port operations, the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) announced.

The new equipment features twin lift capability, allowing it to simultaneously handle two 20-foot containers or one 40-foot container in a single operation, significantly improving turnaround time and cargo-handling productivity at the port.

The Port Management Office Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro said the equipment supports ongoing modernization efforts under the Integrated Management System and aligns with the mandate of the PPA to promote safer, more efficient, and globally competitive port operations.
