CEVA Logistics and BYD Group signed a three-year memorandum of understanding expanding their global automotive logistics partnership, building on an existing collaboration, the companies announced.
In conjunction with the signing, BYD presented CEVA with its “Best Carrier of the Year 2026” award, recognizing the logistics firm’s service performance and automotive logistics expertise.
Under the MOU, the two companies will work together on route planning, capacity allocation, warehousing and distribution, customs coordination, and localized operations, along with end-to-end delivery management and the development of low-carbon logistics solutions.
The partnership draws on BYD’s manufacturing and sales presence across six continents and more than 100 countries, paired with CEVA’s global network and local operational expertise, according to CEVA’s media release.
The expanded scope of work reflects a shift in BYD’s international strategy, moving from finished vehicle exports toward a broader global manufacturing network. CEVA said it has scaled its support accordingly, now covering finished vehicle logistics, inbound manufacturing logistics, overseas distribution, after-sales services and plant supply continuity.
CEVA said it is also helping BYD build out local supply chains to support localized production, as the automaker expands operations across its automotive, battery, energy storage and automotive electronics businesses.
The best carrier of the year award was presented by He Zhiqi, executive vice president of BYD and chief operating officer of BYD Auto, recognizing what the company described as CEVA’s consistent performance, service reliability and operational agility in supporting BYD’s global logistics operations.
“BYD’s recognition marks an important milestone in our long-standing partnership and is a strong endorsement of the trust built through consistent operational excellence,” said Mathieu Friedberg, chief executive officer of CEVA Logistics. “As mobility and energy transition accelerate globally, resilient, sustainable and locally responsive supply chains are becoming a critical enabler of growth. CEVA Logistics is proud to partner with BYD.”
He Zhiqi said the partnership reflects BYD’s broader expansion strategy.
“As BYD accelerates its global expansion, strengthening global manufacturing capabilities and advancing localized production are essential to driving sustainable growth in international markets,” he said.
BYD, founded in 1995 as a rechargeable battery maker, has since expanded into automobiles, rail transit, new energy, and electronics, operating more than 30 industrial parks worldwide.
CEVA Logistics, a part of the CMA CGM Group, provides contract logistics and air, ocean, ground, and finished vehicle transport services in 170 countries, employing approximately 110,000 people across roughly 1,700 facilities.
