CEVA Logistics is supporting the development of new hyperscale data centers operated by AirTrunk in Australia and Malaysia, as growing demand for artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud computing drives investments in digital infrastructure across the Asia-Pacific region.

The French logistics provider announced that it is delivering end-to-end supply chain solutions for AirTrunk’s latest hyperscale data center projects in Sydney, Australia, and Johor Bahru, Malaysia. The facilities are strategically located to support increasing requirements for cloud services, AI applications, and other data-intensive operations throughout the region.

Founded in 2015, AirTrunk specializes in hyperscale data centers and serves cloud, AI, and enterprise customers across the Asia-Pacific and Middle East region. Its Sydney campus ranks among Australia’s largest hyperscale data center developments, while the Johor Bahru campuses are designed to address Southeast Asia’s rapidly growing digital infrastructure needs.

CEVA, a part of the CMA CGM Group, provides AirTrunk with integrated logistics services covering warehousing, domestic transportation, customs clearance, and project management across both countries.

The company said it has completed the initial six-month phase of the Sydney project and is now supporting the Johor Bahru developments. Its role includes managing the complex logistics requirements associated with the construction of hyperscale facilities, including the storage and transportation of heavy infrastructure such as 45-ton generators, oversized air-cooling towers, and critical cooling and climate-control equipment.

Leveraging its regional logistics network and global footprint, CEVA said it coordinates contract logistics, air freight, ocean freight, and ground transportation services to facilitate the movement, storage, and delivery of cross-border shipments required for the projects.

“As AI technologies continue to accelerate, we are seeing a significant rise in supply chain demands driven by the rapid expansion of data centers in the Asia-Pacific region, and globally. With our strong network in APAC and the support of 1,700 sites worldwide, we are committed to delivering reliable, end to end logistics solutions for our customers across technology, industrial projects, consumer sectors, and beyond,” Guy Meredith, vice president of contract logistics for Asia-Pacific at CEVA Logistics, said.

AirTrunk highlighted the importance of supply chain reliability in delivering large-scale data center projects.

“Delivering hyperscale data centers at this pace requires absolute confidence in our supply chain – from the international movement of major equipment through to safe storage, staging and delivery to site. CEVA’s end-to-end logistics capability, local execution and proactive coordination have supported our hyperscale data center in Western Sydney by helping us move critical components safely, efficiently and with greater predictability,” said Daniel Checchin, associate vice president for supply chain and procurement at AirTrunk.

Headquartered in Marseille, France, CEVA Logistics operates in 170 countries through approximately 110,000 employees and around 1,700 facilities worldwide.
