Initial operations of Lufthansa Technik Philippines’ (LTP) new base maintenance facility in Clark International Airport (CRK) is targeted to start in 2028.
Upon its full completion, the Clark facility will cover approximately 157,000 square meters and is designed to accommodate up to nine widebody aircraft bays, the German maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services provider’s parent firm MacroAsia Corp. said in a regulatory disclosure on June 16.
On the same day, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, who is in Manila for an official state visit, witnessed the presentation and exchange of the signed lease agreement between LTP, Bases Conversion and Development Authority, and CRK operator Luzon International Premiere Airport Development Corp.
The lease agreement, which was signed last May, covers the 157,000 sqm site within the Clark airport complex.

MacroAsia said the Clark facility will complement LTP’s 23-hectare technical base and hangar for MRO operations at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Manila and help establish the Philippines as a stronger widebody aircraft MRO hub in the Asia-Pacific region.
According to an earlier financial disclosure, MacroAsia said LTP is exploring expansion opportunities in Clark, Pampanga given the growing demand for MRO services while the MacroAsia ecozone in Manila is already fully developed and space-constrained.
This strategic move would allow LTP to accommodate increasing maintenance requirements beyond NAIA.
LTP will be joining other existing MRO service providers at CRK, including SIA Engineering (Philippines) Corp., Aviation Partnership Philippines, and Metrojet Engineering Clark Ltd., among others.
Philippine aviation support service provider MacroAsia holds 49% of LTP and the rest is owned by Hamburg-based Lufthansa Technik AG.
