MOL Enterprise (Philippines) Inc. inaugurated its new Ermita, Manila branch office for the Drybulk Operations Division recently, marking another milestone for the company’s century-long presence in the country.
The office blessing ceremony was attended by Mitsui O.S.K. Lines President and CEO Jotaro Tamura, with the event led by MOL Enterprise (Philippines) Inc. Drybulk Carrier Division Director and General Manager Sarie Kojima. The occasion brought together MOL Group executives, employees, business partners, and stakeholders.
With the move, MOL’s Global Dry Bulk Business Office is now located on the same floor as the G2 Ocean Philippines office — an arrangement that reflects the close working relationship and strong collaboration between the two organizations.
The company expressed gratitude for the presence and continued support of business partners and guests from KDDI Philippines, G2 Ocean Philippines, and joint venture companies under the Magsaysay Group, including MOL Magsaysay Maritime Academy, MOL Training Center Philippines, Magsaysay MOL Ship Management, Inc., and Magsaysay MOL Marine Inc.
MOL Enterprise (Philippines) Inc. serves as the strategic control center for MOL’s wholly owned operations in the country, tracing its roots back to 1928. The company was restructured in June 2024, following the 2022 establishment of EcoMOL Inc. and the reintegration of MOL Bulk Shipping (Philippines), which had operated locally since 2012.
Beyond drybulk operations, MOL’s Philippine business includes EcoMOL, which provides data-driven solutions for operational efficiency and emissions reduction — monitoring roughly 700 vessels and achieving a 9.6% cut in greenhouse gas emissions and an 8.9% improvement in fuel efficiency by fiscal year 2024. Its Business Development Division, meanwhile, connects local opportunities with MOL’s global capabilities in LNG infrastructure, logistics, and decarbonization.
Across its fleet of container ships, bulk carriers, tankers, and specialized vessels, MOL conducts more than 160 voyages annually with a clean safety record — zero serious marine incidents, oil spills, or fatal accidents. The company also supports around 6,500 Filipino seafarers through its partnership with the Magsaysay Group, spanning seven joint venture companies in crewing, ship management, training, and logistics.
