The Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) and Tokai Electronics Philippines Inc. have signed a supplemental agreement allowing the company to expand its operations by establishing an additional warehouse facility at the Lima Technology Center-Special Economic Zone in Malvar, Batangas.
The agreement, signed on July 16 in Pasay City, amends Tokai Electronics’ original 1998 registration agreement, PEZA announced.
PEZA director general Tereso Panga and Tokai Electronics president and chief executive officer Shinji Kudoh signed the supplemental agreement, which expands the company’s registered activities beyond its existing operations at the Laguna Technopark-Special Economic Zone.
Under the original registration, Tokai Electronics, an Ecozone Logistics Service Enterprise, was authorized to conduct warehousing operations only at the Laguna Technopark.
The amended agreement allows the company to operate and maintain an additional warehouse facility within the Lima Technology Center for the storage, deposit, and safekeeping of electronic goods and products.
It also authorizes the company to import, procure, and handle electronic goods for eventual resale, including packing, repackaging, and preparing products for subsequent sale, transfer, disposition, or export.
“This expansion reflects the kind of continuous upgrading we want to see across our locators — companies like Tokai Electronics growing their footprint, deepening their operations, and finding new value within the ecozones they already call home,” said Panga.
Tokai Electronics Philippines, Inc. is a Japanese-owned company specializing in electronics logistics and trading. The company focuses on sourcing, storing, handling, and distributing electronic components and parts for resale and export.
