-
Toll hike incoming for motorists using South Luzon Expressway and STAR Tollway starting July 1
-
To ease the burden on motorists, the increase was divided into two tranches — the first took effect January 1, 2026
-
Drivers traveling the full Alabang-to-Sto. Tomas stretch will pay up to P41 more depending on vehicle class
Motorists using the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) and Southern Tagalog Arterial Road (STAR) Tollway will face higher toll fees starting July 1, 2026, as SMC SLEX, Inc., the Manila Toll Expressway Systems, Inc., and Star Infrastructure Development Corporation roll out the second tranche of a previously approved consolidated toll rate adjustment.
The companies agreed to spread the adjustment across two tranches rather than applying the full amount at once to cushion the financial impact on drivers. The first tranche was implemented on January 1, 2026.
For the Alabang to Calamba section, updated rates (VAT inclusive) will be:
- Class 1 (passenger cars, sedans): P137.00
- Class 2 (light delivery trucks): P274.00
- Class 3 (heavy haulers, large articulated trucks, semi-trailers, and large delivery lorries): P411.00
- Class 1: P37.00
- Class 2: P74.00
- Class 3: P111.00
The second tranche adds P11, P21, and P32 for Class 1, 2, and 3 vehicles respectively along the Alabang–Calamba corridor, and P3, P6, and P9 for the same classes along the Calamba–Sto. Tomas stretch.
Drivers traveling the entire expressway from Alabang to Sto. Tomas will see an incremental increase of P14 for Class 1, P27 for Class 2, and P41 for Class 3 vehicles.
For the STAR Tollway (now Apolinario-Mabini Superhighway), the new rates are as follows:
Sto. Tomas To Lipa (Section 1)
- Class 1: P64.00
- Class 2: P128.00
- Class 3: P192.00
Lipa to Batangas City (Section 2)
- Class 1: P57.00
- Class 2: P114.00
- Class 3: P171.00
- Class 1: P121.00
- Class 2: P242.00
- Class 3: P 363.00
