Nippon Express Philippines continues to lead CAB’s top 30 international air freight forwarders list, handling 15.13% of the total air cargo volume in 2024
International airfreight forwarders carried 317.913 million kilograms of Philippine cargo in 2024, up 5.2% from 302.140 million kg in 2023, according to latest data from the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB).
Last year’s figure was a rebound from the decline recorded in 2023.
It must be noted that only 96.67% and 90.93% of accredited international air freight forwarders submitted complete data for 2024 and 2023, respectively.
Of the total 2024 throughput, consolidations accounted for 43% or 137.003 million kg, 4.7% higher than the 130.806 million kg in 2023.
Breakbulking, which represented 40% of the total, likewise improved 7.1% to 126.448 million kg from 118.091 million kg.
Direct shipments also grew 2.3% to 54.462 million kg from 53.243 million kg in 2023.
Nippon Express Philippines Corp. continues to lead CAB’s top 30 international air freight forwarders list, handling 48.090 million kg or 15.13% of the total air cargo volume in 2024.
CAB website data shows Nippon Express consistently topping the international air freight forwarders list since 2004, except in 2008 when Trans-Global Consolidators, Inc. took the lead.
Federal Express Pacific maintained its rank at second for the fourth consecutive year, with 22.887 million kg or 7.2% of the total in 2024.
Climbing two ranks to third was Kintetsu World Express (Phils.), Inc., handling 16.003 million kg or a 5.03% share.
Schenker Philippines, Inc. remained in fourth place with 15.700 million or 4.94% of the total, while Yusen Logistics Philippines, Inc. improved two ranks to fifth with 14.024 million kg or a 4.41% share.
Remaining in sixth place was DSV Air & Sea, Inc., accounting for 13.59 million kg or 4.27% while U-Freight Phils., Inc. dropped four ranks to seventh with 13.18 million kg or 4.15% share.
Up two ranks to eight was DHL Express (Phils.) Corp. handling 9.389 million kg or 2.95% of the total, dislodging Kuehne + Nagel Inc., which dropped to ninth with 9.339 million kg or 2.94%.
In 10th place was UPS Delbros Transport, Inc., which rose one place posting 8.169 million kg or a share of 2.57%.
In 11th to 20th places were DHL Global Forwarding (Phils.), Inc. (8.051 million kg); CEVA Logistics Phils., Inc. (7.653 million kg); Expeditors Philippines, Inc. (7.119 million kg); 247 Cargo Services Inc. (6.952 million kg); Trans-Global Consolidators Inc. (6.483 million kg); UPS SCS (Philippines), Inc. (6.003 million kg); Trucklane Freight Forwarding Inc. (5.778 million kg); Maersk Logistics and Services Philippines, Inc. (5.624 million kg); Polaris Express Logistics Corp. (3.754 million kg); and AAI Worldwide Logistics Inc. (3.444 million kg).
From 21st to 30th places were Kornet Express, Inc. (3.405 million kg); Dimerco Express Phils, Inc. (3.317 million kg); NNR Global Logistics (Phils) Inc. (3.207 million kg); Morrison Express Philippines Inc. (2.954 million kg); Sincerity International Cargo Services Corp. (2.782 million kg); LX Pantos Philippines, Inc. (2.282 million kg); ATR International Freight Inc. (2.215 million kg); World Alliance Freight, Inc. (2.155 million kg); Royal Cargo Inc. (2.047 million kg); and Airspeed International Corp.
