Logistics firm Airspeed facilitated two landmark shipments of premium Guimaras mangoes to international markets this month, partnering with Philippine Airlines (PAL) Cargo and Emirates SkyCargo to open new export channels for Philippine agricultural goods.

On June 9, 2026, a test shipment of premium Guimaras mangoes was sent to Hong Kong via PAL Cargo, a part of the Guimaras Mango Test Market Shipment Logistics Feasibility Assessment.

PAL managed the domestic transportation of mangoes from Iloilo to Manila, connecting local and international logistics for the shipment. Exported by Kokomojo Mango Farms Corp., the goal was to evaluate export logistics, gauge market potential, and find opportunities to grow Guimaras mango exports in international markets.

A ceremonial send-off was attended by Airspeed International president Mariz Regis, PAL Cargo vice president Jason Siy, and representatives from the Bureau of Plant Industry (BPI), as well as other government and industry stakeholders. The initiative was coordinated among the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Guimaras, the DTI Supply Chain and Logistics Group (SCLG), the Bureau of Plant Industry (BPI), the Bureau of Customs (BOC), and the Provincial Government of Guimaras.

The mangoes arrived in Hong Kong in time for Philippine Independence Day celebrations, where they were presented to diplomats, business leaders, and members of the Filipino community.

“The successful shipment demonstrates the growing international demand for premium Philippine agricultural products and serves as a critical step toward establishing regular commercial exports from Guimaras to Hong Kong and other Asian markets,” Airspeed said.

European market

Airspeed also partnered with Emirates Airlines on the first direct export of Guimaras Geographical Indication (GI) Mangoes to Europe.

The shipment, consisting of 100 kilograms of premium Guimaras GI mangoes from Guimaras Wonders Farm, was bound for Belgium as its port of entry, ahead of distribution to Germany, France, Spain, and the Netherlands.

The send-off was led by Regis, DTI undersecretary Mary Jean Pacheco, and Emirates Airlines cargo manager for the Philippines Jassem AlMulla. The shipment involved coordination among the DTI Guimaras Provincial Office, the DTI SCLG, the Philippine Trade and Investment Center–Brussels, the BOC Region VI, the Department of Agriculture-BPI Region VI, and the Provincial Government of Guimaras.

Airspeed said the two shipments underscore the importance of integrated logistics solutions in connecting Philippine agricultural producers with international buyers.

The company noted that efficient handling of highly perishable products is critical in ensuring compliance with global quality standards and maintaining product integrity throughout the supply chain.

According to Airspeed, the successful exports demonstrate that collaboration among government agencies, airlines, exporters, and logistics providers can help expand market access, enhance export competitiveness, and create sustainable growth opportunities for Filipino farmers and agricultural exporters.

“Through partnerships and logistics excellence, Airspeed is proud to bring the best of the Philippines to the world — one shipment at a time,” the logistics company said.
