Cebu Pacific passenger traffic rises 4.7% in July 2026

Cebu Pacific carried more than 2.2 million passengers in July 2026, up 4.7% from the same month last year, driven by stronger domestic traffic, according to the airline’s latest release.

Seat capacity increased 6.2% during the month, bringing the airline’s overall seat load factor (SLF) to 84.4%.

Domestic passenger traffic rose 9.1% year on year, resulting in a domestic SLF of 84.5%.

International passenger traffic, meanwhile, declined 8.6% as the airline reduced international seat capacity by 16.9%. The capacity cuts lifted international SLF by 7.6 percentage points to 83.8%.

As of July, the Gokongwei-owned airline had carried more than 16.7 million passengers, 4.3% higher than the 16 million passengers recorded in the same period in 2025.

Domestic passengers increased 5.5% to 12.6 million, while international passengers rose 1% to 4.1 million.

Seat load factor averaged 81.6% for the seven-month period, while total seat capacity increased 9.3% to 20.5 million.

“We delivered continued passenger growth in July supported by a strong rebound in the domestic market. Domestic traffic grew 9.1% year-on-year reflecting resilient demand across our network. International traffic was lower but aligned with planned capacity reductions which resulted to stronger load factors,” said Xander Lao, president and chief commercial officer of Cebu Pacific.

“As we look toward the fourth quarter, we will be launching new flights across our network including key destinations in China, Vietnam and Japan to further strengthen connectivity while providing passengers with more convenient and affordable options,” he added.

Beginning October 26, Cebu Pacific will reintroduce its direct flights connecting Cebu and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, offering flights three times a week on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

On November 17, the carrier will operate thrice-weekly flights between Cebu and Shanghai on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, becoming the only local airline with direct flights.

From November 18, 2026, flights from Shanghai to Cebu will also run three times weekly on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.

Cebu Pacific will also launch direct flights between Cebu and Nagoya, Japan, four times weekly beginning November 19.
