FAST Logistics Group has partnered with Buskowitz Energy to expand use of renewable energy at its cold chain hub in Cebu through a 20-year power purchase agreement.
Under the agreement, Buskowitz Energy will install and manage a 779.96-kilowatt-peak (kWp) grid-tied rooftop solar photovoltaic system at the FAST Cold Chain Hub Cebu located in Tayud, Consolacion, the logistics and supply chain solutions provider said in a statement.
The system will generate approximately 1.23 million kilowatt-hours of renewable electricity in its first year of operation, supplying up to 35% of the facility’s electricity requirements.
This is an important milestone for an energy-intensive cold-chain operation that requires continuous refrigeration to protect temperature-sensitive products, FAST said.
FAST will install approximately 1,300 solar panels across 4,500 square meters of rooftop space. The solar power system will include a 24/7 online monitoring platform, allowing FAST to track actual solar energy generation and measure the project’s contribution to its sustainability targets.
The initiative supports FAST’s broader sustainability efforts. The company continues to explore renewable energy and more efficient solutions across its logistics network.

As the first Filipino-owned logistics company to publicly commit to achieving Net Zero by 2050, FAST said it aims to reduce its reliance on conventional grid electricity and lower its carbon emissions.
Buskowitz Energy will spearhead the project’s installation and asset management, enabling FAST to expand its use of renewable energy without directly owning and operating the solar assets.
The agreement was formalized through a contract signing attended by FAST Logistics Group executives led by Group President William Chiongbian II, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary Atty. Arnold Yangco, Assistant General Counsel Atty. Guia Ureta, Head of Warehousing and VAS Business Unit Aron Christian Javier, Head of Cold Chain Business Unit Marc Anthony Dizon, and Procurement Head Claire Cuestas.
Buskowitz Energy was represented by CEO and President James Carlos Buskowitz, Vice President for Sales and Business Development Henry Layug, Senior Vice President for Finance Marion Agarao, and General Counsel Atty. Karol Josef Gutierez.
FAST Cold Chain Hub Cebu serves businesses across the Visayas with temperature-controlled warehousing and logistics solutions. The facility opened in 2021 and has 10,500 pallet positions. It also features smart temperature and humidity sensors with mobile monitoring capabilities.
FAST provides service to a broad range of industries, including food and beverage, fresh meat processing, and fruit and vegetable distribution. The company also serves quick-service restaurants and pharmaceutical and vaccine handling.
FAST said its flexible cold chain solutions also enable micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and local farmers to access temperature-controlled storage on a plug-and-play basis, including volumes as small as two pallets for a few weeks.
The facility’s cold chain and warehousing operations are certified under FSSC 22000, which encompasses ISO 22000, HACCP, GMP, and GHP requirements. It also maintains certifications for ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management), ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental Management), and ISO 45001:2018 (Occupational Health and Safety).
