Health and beauty shop Watsons Philippines partnered with green logistics service provider Mober Technology Pte., Inc. for the use of electric vehicles (EV) for delivery services, with women drivers among those who will operate the fleet.

“Making this partnership even more meaningful, Mober will assign lady drivers to operate the Watsons EV fleet – creating opportunities for women to take the wheel and build careers in an industry traditionally dominated by men,” Dennis Ng, Mober chief executive officer, said in a Linkedin post.

“We are proud to show that women can lead not only in the workplace, but also on the road,” he added.

The partnership initially involves four delivery vehicles that will move goods from distribution centers to shops within the Metro Manila area.

Sharon Decapia, Watsons senior assistant vice president for Marketing, PR and Sustainability at Watsons Philippines, told the media during the formal project launch last week that expansion plans are already on the table.

“We’re actually working to have a longer vision for expanding these electric vehicles in the near future,” she said, noting that complimentary infrastructure, such as charging stations, is also being assessed.

The initiative is part of Watsons’ “Look Good, Do Good and Feel Great” sustainability framework.

“Mober is honored to support Watsons in bringing its products closer to Filipino communities—faster, smarter, and greener,” Ng said.
