The Bureau of Customs-Port of Batangas (BOC-Batangas) collected P24.208 billion in July 2026, its highest monthly collection to date and 3.22% higher than its target collection of P23.452 billion for the month.

The record-breaking collection reflects the collection district’s sustained commitment to strengthening revenue generation, facilitating legitimate trade, and enhancing customs processes, BOC-Batangas said in a statement.

The July collection also surpassed the record P23.15 billion in June 2026.

Toyota Motor Philippines Corp., Shell Pilipinas Corp., and Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corp.’s importations accounted for a significant share of BOC-Batangas’ collection in July.

BOC-Batangas said a key factor in its achievement was the strengthened collaboration with its stakeholders.

Last May, BOC-Batangas convened a town hall meeting with 12 partner government agencies, providing a platform to address operational concerns, improve inter-agency coordination, and reinforce collective efforts toward efficient cargo clearance and trade facilitation. BOC-Batangas also continues to hold regular engagements with its Customs Industry Consultative and Advisory Council (CICAC) members, fostering open communication and stronger public-private sector collaboration.

“This record-breaking achievement reflects the dedication of our personnel and the strong collaboration we have built with our partner agencies and CICAC stakeholders,” BOC-Batangas district collector Carmelita Talusan said.

“July’s performance, which recorded both our highest revenue target and highest monthly revenue collection since January, demonstrates our unwavering commitment to excellence. Through the leadership and guidance of Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno, we remain committed to strengthening revenue collection, facilitating legitimate trade, and delivering responsive public service,” Talusan added.

She earlier said the port is aiming to surpass its full-year revenue goal of P252.41 billion, which is 9.3% higher than its 2025 collection of P230.95 billion.

The port’s performance remains driven by oil, petroleum, and automotive imports, but the district hopes to accommodate more commodities and volumes, especially with the upcoming South Luzon Container Terminal in Bauan, set to begin operations in 2028, Talusan earlier told PortCalls at the sidelines of the 1st Southern Luzon Logistics Conference and Exhibit 2026, organized by PortCalls in partnership with BOC-Batangas.
