The 2GO Group recently launched its initial fleet of electric trucks, with some of the units deployed in Cebu in the Visayas and Davao in Mindanao.
“2GO is ramping up its electric vehicle fleet in Cebu and Davao, strengthening our support towards the evolving EV requirements of our clients while enabling more sustainable logistics solutions nationwide,” the 2GO Group announced on its social media platforms.
In a separate post on September 11, SM Investments Corp, the parent and controlling firm of 2GO, said its first fleet of e-trucks are already on the road, “helping deliver goods more efficiently while reducing emissions.”
2GO, in partnership with Eclimo Electric Management Inc., rolled out pilot e-trucks in November 2025 as part of the logistics company’s sustainability strategy and efforts to expand clean transport solutions nationwide. As of end-2025, there were two e-trucks in operation, based on SMIC’s sustainability report.

Prior to the EEMI partnership, 2GO also signed an agreement with the Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines (EVAP) to advance electric mobility and sustainable transport across the country.
Apart from its EV fleet, 2GO is also equipping its vessels with EV charging capabilities to further support the movement of EVs nationwide. The company’s passenger vessels MV 2GO Masikap and MV 2GO Masinag have been retrofitted to support EV transport, with plans to extend this capability to more ships in the fleet

EVAP president Edmund Araga then said logistics support is vital in expanding EV adoption nationwide.
“It is crucial for us to embrace electric vehicles to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, especially in urban areas like Metro Manila, Cebu, and Davao,” he said. “Having a reliable logistics partner like 2GO is essential to ensuring the nationwide availability and support of EVs.”
Apart from its EV fleet, other environment-friendly initiatives being undertaken by 2GO, based on its 2025 sustainability report, include the use of electronic forklifts and multi-temperature reefer vans to cut carbon emission, use of anti-fouling paint to its ships to reduce fuel use and emissions, installation of renewable energy systems at its facilities, and use of eco-friendly packaging materials.
