The Bureau of Customs (BOC)-Port of Cebu closed the first six months of 2026 with a P25.331 billion collection, exceeding its P24.955 billion target for the period while also recording a double-digit surplus for June alone, capping a period that included one of the port’s largest anti-smuggling operations on record.
For June, the port collected P4.750 billion against a target of P4.165 billion, higher by P585 million or 14.05%.
The monthly outturn pushed the cumulative first half figure past the P24.955-billion target by P376.274 million, equivalent to a 1.51% surplus.
District collector Alexandra Yap-Lumontad credited port personnel and trade stakeholders for the results.

“These numbers represent more than collections, they reflect the dedication of every member of the Port of Cebu and the confidence of the stakeholders we serve. This achievement challenges us to raise the bar even higher, to continue innovating, and to ensure that every improvement we make translates into better service, stronger revenue performance, and greater value for the Filipino people,” she said in a statement.
Yap-Lumontad has since been promoted to Service Director of the Financial Management Office, where she is expected to continue advancing BOC’s mandate at the national level.
The port marked the period with a commendation ceremony on July 6, recognizing personnel whose work contributed to both revenue performance and a major enforcement action against cigarette smuggling.
The operation resulted in the seizure of 11 forty-foot containers and 25 twenty-foot containers loaded with illicit cigarettes valued at approximately P1.84 billion, one of the largest single tobacco interdiction hauls recorded at the port.
On the trade facilitation front, the port said it streamlined cargo clearance procedures, tightened customs valuation and tariff classification, and reinforced compliance with international customs standards. The port said these measures were aligned with directives from Customs commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno to advance modernization, strengthen border protection, and sustain revenue growth.
