New Asahi Group Subic Trading Corp. has opened its P50-million expansion facility at the Tipo Hightech Eco Park in the Subic Bay Freeport Zone, adding capacity for its truck and heavy-equipment trading operations.
The company inaugurated the facility on September 21, 2026, with the 5,231.60-square-meter site expected to generate 25 additional jobs.
The facility will handle the importation, exportation, transshipment, warehousing, rebuilding and trading of trucks, buses, heavy equipment and industrial machinery.
“The Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) takes great pride in developments like this,” SBMA chairman and administrator Eduardo Jose Aliño said in a statement. “A Freeport’s strength lies in the enterprises that choose to invest, expand, and remain within its borders.”

Aliño said New Asahi Group’s decision to consolidate its sourcing, importation, reconditioning, fabrication and after-sales operations under the Apex Trucks brand in Subic reflects confidence in the Freeport and the business environment maintained by the SBMA.
New Asahi Group Subic Trading Corp. specializes in the dealership and importation of commercial vehicles, particularly reconditioned Japanese trucks, heavy equipment and industrial machinery.
Operating under the Apex Trucks name, the company is engaged in the import, export, transshipment, storage, rebuilding and wholesale of trucks, buses, heavy and industrial equipment, as well as new and used spare parts and accessories.
The new facility’s inauguration was attended by Aliño; New Asahi Group chairman Ahamed Mohamed Mohamed Hussain; president Shukry Hussain; CEO Riza Nazeer; SBMA senior deputy administrator for business and investment Barney Lee III; and Olongapo City mayor Atty. Rolen Paulino Jr., who led the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Representatives from the Embassy of Sri Lanka in the Philippines also attended the event, along with Xantheng (Subic) International Corp. president Simon Su and vice president for Operations Kelly Uy.
The investment comes as the Subic Bay Freeport continues to receive truck and heavy-equipment imports through its locators.
The SBMA’s Trade Facilitation and Compliance Department requires registration of trucks, heavy equipment and other regulated goods, supporting regulatory compliance and port-related activity.
The freeport agency also said that it recorded sustained activity in port revenues and in non-containerized and bulk cargo, including heavy machinery and break-bulk shipments, reflecting continued movement of capital goods through Subic.
